Alex Wellen was named President and Chief Growth Officer, QVC Group^SM in March 2025. In this role, Alex defines and leads QVC Group’s growth strategy across U.S. Social Selling, Streaming, Digital, New Business Development, and Platform Distribution. He will oversee a growing, multifunctional team, introduce new capabilities into the organization, and develop and execute plans to drive success and growth at QVC Group.

Alex has over 20 years of visionary leadership in digital media, product innovation, and strategic growth, with extensive background in modernizing global brands and scaling transformational digital businesses across a wide range of sectors. Prior to joining QVC Group, Alex was CEO and President of MotorTrend Group, a world leader in digital media, programming, and experiential events for automotive shoppers and enthusiasts. Under his leadership, MotorTrend received more awards for its journalism, products, marketing and advertising than in any other period in its 75-year history, including its first Emmy and Digiday’s “2024 Best Streaming” and “2024 Top Fast Services” awards. MotorTrend Group was formerly a Warner Bros. company prior to Alex leading the sale to Hearst in 2025. He also held strategic executive leadership roles at Turner Broadcasting and CNN Worldwide.

Alex chairs the board of directors of The Duo Umbrella, a company he cofounded with his teenaged son that was recognized as one of “TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024.” Alex has authored two books with Penguin Random House and is the inventor on over 30 patents. He has a JD from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in systems and industrial engineering from Rutgers University.
